Wonderlic Verbal Practice
Updated October 27, 2026
Verbal questions on the Wonderlic test vocabulary and reasoning with words: what a word means, which word is the opposite, how two pairs of words relate, which word doesn’t belong. They’re usually the fastest questions to answer, so getting them quickly frees up time for the math. Here’s how to approach them, then free practice questions.
Quick approaches
- Meanings and opposites: read every choice. Opposite questions often include a synonym as a trap.
- Analogies: say the relationship as a sentence (“a puppy is a young dog”), then find the pair that fits the same sentence.
- Odd one out: find the category most of the words share, then the word that’s outside it.
- Unscrambling sentences: find the subject and verb first, then build around them.
